Chicken Satay

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken breast
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 medium onions minced
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons tumeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup soy milk sweetened
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 35 bamboo skewers

Directions

1) Soak skewers for 1/2 hour or more to prevent them from burning.
2) Prepare the marinade: mix the ingredients except for the chicken breast together and form into a paste either using a food processor or mortar and pestle. If unavailable, mince onions very fine.
3) Halve chicken breasts and divide each breast into eight pieces.
4) Skewer chicken. Cover in marinade and refrigerate for 1/2 hour to two hours. Cover tightly if marinading overnight.
5)Preheat oven to high broil. Adjust top rack 15cm from broiler.
6) Broil chicken 15-20 minutes. Serve with dipping sauce.
