I’ve stopped being cynical about food writers condescending to report on kosher wines. Although they still treat kosher wines as an entirely separate class, they’ve come around and now apply the same level and standard of critique as other wines, and less condescention than in the past. I suppose in a way it’s better; the kosher wine field is smaller, so the competition isn’t as fierce.
As someone who writes about wine for a living, each year I am tasked by my editor with rounding up the best kosher wines in time for the Passover meal.
I like the Sion Creek (#3) and I’m going to keep an eye out for the Tio Pepe Sherry.
